Medicaid Spending
The Society of Actuaries Health Section has begun a new project to look at projections of health care expenditures, and particularly their impact on different payers. As we think about this, consider the following fact from the Heritage Foundation:(http://www.heritage.org/Research/Budget/bg1833.cfm) "Since 1999, federal Medicaid spending has leaped from $108 billion to $186 billion—an average annual growth of 9.5%" and consider the potential budgetary consequences.
